The Huntington African-American Museum Project

Help Preserve the African-American Museum Project!

The Town of Huntington has been designated an All-America City. Its character is derived from the contributions of the different races and ethnicities of our community. We support the efforts of the Huntington African American Historical Designation Council to highlight these contributions by creating a Huntington African American Museum. The Museum seeks to celebrate with the general public the contributions of people of African ancestry and their role in the creation of a community that represents the diversity of America.

Huntington is a great mosaic but without the brightness of inclusivity, a shadow of division is cast. With this in mind, we seek partners in the creation of a museum that celebrates Huntington’s African American history and culture.

We welcome your support.

Our goal is to raise a minimum of five million dollars to realize this project. The project will include building the Museum, landscaping, and parking, as well as the support of exhibits and programming to be presented at the Museum throughout the year.

Please consider becoming a Museum partner, a stalwart on the palette of unity that we call “Huntington.” Through a tax-deductible gift, you can become a part of this historic legacy for generations to come.

Thank you in advance for your support of creating this educational public space for residents, friends, and visitors alike to experience that Huntington is indeed an All-America City!
